St Stephens Players are searching for a Musical Director to help bring this year's magical pantomime 'Beauty and the Beast' to life! If you have the time, spirit and ability to put our little but lively amateur theatre company through its musical paces, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us!
Or call director Diane Teehan: 07781 405 390
We start rehearsals in September but ideally would like the musical director to meet up with the director and choreographer of the production as soon as possible to discuss things.
Another year, another One Act Play Festival delightfully done and dusted! St Stephens Player’s entry, "13 SIGNS YOU SHOULD STOP BEING A PIRATE", directed and produced by Dani Robin, lived up to its promise to be a goofy celebration of the arrrt of being a pirate, and was enjoyed and well-received by the audience.
On Friday 5th July 2019, the good-for-nothin’ pirates Steph Boscher, Wendy Abbott, Georgia Harvey, Louise Mitchinson, Jenny Lambert and Dani Robin stormed onto the Beau Sejour stage and kept up a merry pace. They had so much fun and laughter in three months of rehearsals and it just kept on being fun!
However the voyage was not always smooth-sailing as original cast member Emily Hawkes had to withdraw from the production two weeks before showtime due to a sore back (get well soon, Emily!). Adding to the challenge of being a first-time director, Dani was called upon to step in and tread the boards - she fulfilled her roles on-and-off stage superbly.
Of course the production could not have happened without our fantastic backstage crew. Many thanks to Alan Robin our Stage Manager, Diane Teehan who sourced Props - which included parrots, hooks and Mr Whiskers the cat, say no more! - Mollie Dorey, who made gallons of tea for the thirsty shipmates, and Lesley Perchard, who had an easy ride as the prompt. Make-up and costume were very much a team effort, with extra last-minute assistance from the ultra-talented Alli Gooch on the latter!
The whole company had a brilliant time except... we can't stop talking like pirates, arrrhh!
Well done Dani and thank you for all your hard work and for representing The Players so well.

On Friday 29th March 2019 St Stephens Players celebrated 60 years on stage with a variety show bursting at the seams with music, comedy and all-round fantastic entertainment.
We would like to thank everyone who came along to watch and support the event. The audience completely entered into the spirit of the evening and lifted the company so high we floated on their enjoyment, laughter and love for our small am-dram family.
We are a true company, with everyone pulling together for the occasion, whether on-stage, backstage or front of house; the only divas (allowed for one night only!) were our gorgeous Dames. Rouge, feathers, bums and boobs - Dolly Parton eat your heart out!
Thank you to everyone who helped us to put on our 60th show. You are all diamonds.
St Stephens Players are 60 years young this year and to celebrate we are putting on a variety show on Friday 29th March!
If you would like to get involved - whether on-stage, backstage, front of house, costume or tech - please come along to St Stephens Community Centre at 7.45pm on Tuesday 26th February.
Rehearsals start on Thursday 28th February and will be every Tuesday and Thursday leading up to the show. There will be musical numbers, sketches, monologues, comedy and dances - something for everyone.
If you're unable to make the Tuesday 26th meeting but would still like to be involved please contact show producer Chris Dragun via email@example.com
Hi everyone; Christmas is now over for another year and we are all looking towards the New Year. The Players wish you all best wishes for 2019.
Panto season is all over now (Oh yes it is!) but what a success Cinderella was! Comments from the public were lovely.
A huge thank you must go to Tristan Boscher (Director) the cast, crew, back stage, front of house and all those who helped in so many ways over the months that it takes to put on a production like this. None of this could happen without an army of amazing people. St Stephens Players are so lucky to have them and to still have that lovely family atmosphere.
WELL DONE EVERYONE

St Stephens Players are delighted to bring the most wonderful, laugh-out-loud traditional family pantomime to our little community hall!
We have Anemia and Ammonia the ugly sisters (but they are GORGEous), their evil mother, happy-go-lucky servant Buttons, who is one of the good guys, as is the Fairy Godmother, but the star of the show is Cinderella, with her beautiful coach, gown, glass slipper and a handsome Prince... what more can you ask for just before Christmas!
Please come along and enjoy a wonderful, magical show. There will be nine performances from December 8th to December 15th - book now, don't miss out!
Wishing you all a happy, healthy New Year and a very merry Christmas.
